Join us September 13-17th, 2021!
Our Communities are facing a growing number of changes. From social distancing to the impacts of climate change, planners and other professionals are adapting and implementing new strategies to redefine what “building resilience” means.
The 2021 SPPI Conference will focus on Building Resiliency across the province and the profession by engaging practitioners, policy makers, community leaders and others in a collaborative forum to share emerging research, best practices, key learnings, and other thought-provoking ideas. We will reflect on how recent events have changed our professional and personal lives and how we can build a more resilient future.
Given the nature of ever-changing public health guidelines and recognizing SPPI’s vast geographical area, the majority of the 2021 Conference will be hosted virtually. The Institute is committed to exploring interactive and innovative opportunities to provide attendees with learning opportunities such as presentations, panels, keynotes, workshops, and networking opportunities that will enhance their scope of work and provide connections with other professionals across the province.
While we do hope to host some regional in-person events, we will need to be flexible in our planning. We will assess the public health guidelines in Summer 2021 and decide if the conference will be completely virtual, or a hybrid, with some in-person events. We will let speakers, sponsors and attendees know as soon as possible if they will be able to travel to attend regional events in person. We will strive to be creative and flexible with our potential sponsor benefits and recognition as well.
