Kristie Muzyka

RPP, MCIP
Kristie is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan RUP Program and has worked in rural planning for over six years. Kristie started her planning career in a term position for one year with the Ministry of Government Relations, Community Planning Branch. Upon completion of that position, Kristie began working with the R.M. of Corman Park, where she remains in a position focused on development review.

Outside of planning, Kristie is a 10+ year member of Living Sky Taiko – A taiko drumming group in Saskatoon that performs at various events around the city and teaches taiko drumming workshops and classes. Kristie is also an ever-engaged mom of two children who keep her volunteering for soccer associations, school events and all the adventures kids can spontaneously conjure.

Daycare in the Rural Planning Realm

This presentation will explore the challenges of navigating rural planning, public interest, the Statements of Provincial Interest, and the strong desire of a rural community to protect the character of their neighbourhood from a child care centre.
