Aimee is the Director of Planning and Development for the Town of Lumsden and the Rural Municipality of Lumsden No. 189. With over 15 years of experience in the public sector, Aimee’s career has been deeply focused on community planning within Saskatchewan. Her work, spanning both provincial and municipal roles, emphasizes facilitating sustainable growth and fostering inter-municipal collaboration.
As the current President of the Saskatchewan Professional Planners Institute (SPPI), Aimee is dedicated to promoting good governance and transparency. She is actively involved in the review and update of the institute’s administrative bylaws to ensure a clear and accountable framework for the profession.

Preventing Professional Missteps: Guidance from the Discipline Committtee

This session will provide an overview of the Professional Code of Practice governing regulated planners. The code will be the central focus of the session and will be used to generate group discussion about issues confronting planners working in the public service and private sector. This discussion will help planners address a range of questions including who to go to for advice and how the code provides a moral/ethical foundation.

This session will specifically reference SPPI’s legislation and bylaws in terms of the discipline complaint process, it will provide an overview of ethical considerations applicable to individuals working in the planning profession.
