Daniel Kingsbury, MCIP, RPP is a professional planner with over 15 years of experience in community planning and intergovernmental collaboration. He currently serves on Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation’s Municipal Relations team, where he works with municipal partners to support housing outcomes through policy alignment, program delivery, and evidence based planning approaches. Prior to joining CMHC, Daniel held planning roles with several municipalities across Ontario and with the Department of National Defence, contributing to land use planning, development review, and policy implementation. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and a Master of Planning from Queen’s University. His professional interests include housing policy, affordability, sustainable development, and the role of gentle density in enabling complete, inclusive, and resilient communities.
An interactive session featuring Saskatchewan communities (Saskatoon, Regina, and Outlook) will showcase their experiences participating in the Housing Accelerator Fund. Municipal representatives will share what they’ve learned on the path from initial HAF approval to on-the-ground implementation, highlighting how they are working to increase housing supply across the province. CMHC will also join the discussion to provide a national perspective on the program’s progress and emerging lessons.
The session will feature real examples of how Saskatchewan municipalities are modernizing zoning, streamlining approval processes, and piloting new housing solutions to meet growing demand. Speakers will discuss both the successes and the challenges they’ve encountered and how HAF-supported initiatives are helping them move forward.
Attendees will gain a clear understanding of what’s working across Saskatchewan, how planning systems are evolving, and where new opportunities are emerging to support more responsive, efficient, and innovative housing delivery.
