Doug Daniels is Executive Director of the Project Planning and Delivery branch within the Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement, where he leads project delivery for government infrastructure including correctional facilities, provincial parks, and government buildings. He has more than 20 years of experience in Saskatchewan public sector infrastructure.
Doug is a Registered Professional Planner (MCIP, RPP) and a Project Management Professional (PMP) and holds an MBA. He previously served on the national Board of Directors of the Canadian Institute of Planners as Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee.
His work sits where planning meets capital delivery: turning long-range plans into funded, buildable projects, and building the governance that keeps them on track.
Across Saskatchewan, municipalities are increasingly being asked to respond (quickly and visibly) to intersecting crises of homelessness, addictions, mental health, and public safety. Since 2024, medically supervised complex needs facilities in Regina and Saskatoon have been developed, with Prince Albert now under active construction as the third site. Together, these facilities represent a rapid evolution in how land-use planning, health policy, and policing intersect.
