Amarpreet Guliani, RPP, MCIP

Councillor
Originally from Punjab, India, I moved to Canada in 2006. Building has been a passion of mine since childhood, so I pursued an undergraduate degree in Architecture from India and a Master’s in Planning at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University). This educational journey instilled in me a commitment to maximizing efficiencies with limited resources, a principle I consider fundamental to effective urban planning.

Before settling in Regina, I worked as a senior draftsperson at a structural engineering firm in Winnipeg, MB. This role allowed me to see firsthand the crucial impact urban planning has on both the public and private sectors in Canada. I joined the City of Regina in 2014 and have since contributed to various initiatives, including a comprehensive review of the city’s land use regulations and the neighbourhood planning program. Currently, I serve as a Senior Planner in the City Revitalization Branch.

I am excited to join the SPPI Council because it offers me the opportunity to contribute to the profession, advocate for planning issues, and collaborate with passionate peers. I firmly believe that good governance is essential for an organization’s success and accountability.
