I am from Regina, Saskatchewan and attended the University of Regina and the University of Saskatchewan. I became a planner because as a kid I always loved Sim City and playing with Lego so I have always been interested in the built form. I have previously worked at the City of Lloydminster and the City of Regina. I am currently the Director of Community Planning with the Ministry of Government Relations in the Regina office. I joined SPPI Council because I have always believed that being a professional means volunteering some time to the professional association. My plan for SPPI Council was to increase learning opportunities and reach more of the membership. Unfortunately COVID has changed that so I want SPPI to be in a solid financial state when we are able to resume in-person events and outreach to the membership. This quote by Dwight D. Eisenhower is out of context but I like how it relates to planning: “Plans are worthless, but planning is everything”.
