Autumn Dawson is the Director of Planning & Development Services for the City of Regina, leading strategic city building initiatives including downtown revitalization, housing strategy, neighbourhood planning, and heritage preservation. She is committed to shaping a more vibrant and inclusive Regina by advancing density, walkability, innovative redevelopment, and expanded housing options. Since graduating from the University of Saskatchewan’s Regional and Urban Planning program, she has supported communities across the province for over 20 years through roles with the City, SARM and the Government of Saskatchewan. Passionate about city building and developing future leaders, Autumn mentors emerging professionals and champions communities where people, culture, housing, and business can thrive.
An interactive session featuring Saskatchewan communities (Saskatoon, Regina, and Outlook) will showcase their experiences participating in the Housing Accelerator Fund. Municipal representatives will share what they’ve learned on the path from initial HAF approval to on-the-ground implementation, highlighting how they are working to increase housing supply across the province. CMHC will also join the discussion to provide a national perspective on the program’s progress and emerging lessons.
The session will feature real examples of how Saskatchewan municipalities are modernizing zoning, streamlining approval processes, and piloting new housing solutions to meet growing demand. Speakers will discuss both the successes and the challenges they’ve encountered and how HAF-supported initiatives are helping them move forward.
Attendees will gain a clear understanding of what’s working across Saskatchewan, how planning systems are evolving, and where new opportunities are emerging to support more responsive, efficient, and innovative housing delivery.
