Lesley Anderson is the Director of Planning and Development for the City of Saskatoon. Lesley has a Master’s Degree in Planning from Dalhousie University, is a Registered Professional Planner and Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners. She is responsible for oversight of all aspects of current and long range planning, including the Official Community Plan, Zoning Bylaw administration, regional planning, urban design, neighbourhood planning, attainable housing, heritage, Community Development and demographic research.
An interactive session featuring Saskatchewan communities (Saskatoon, Regina, and Outlook) will showcase their experiences participating in the Housing Accelerator Fund. Municipal representatives will share what they’ve learned on the path from initial HAF approval to on-the-ground implementation, highlighting how they are working to increase housing supply across the province. CMHC will also join the discussion to provide a national perspective on the program’s progress and emerging lessons.
The session will feature real examples of how Saskatchewan municipalities are modernizing zoning, streamlining approval processes, and piloting new housing solutions to meet growing demand. Speakers will discuss both the successes and the challenges they’ve encountered and how HAF-supported initiatives are helping them move forward.
Attendees will gain a clear understanding of what’s working across Saskatchewan, how planning systems are evolving, and where new opportunities are emerging to support more responsive, efficient, and innovative housing delivery.
